Moieciu de Jos is situated in the Moieciu township, in the Rucar-Bran couloir, and is surrounded by both Bucegi and Piatra Craiului Mountains .

The Moieciu Village has been well-known for it's numerous centers of artisan crafts. The most valuable of them is represented by the artistic wood carvings.
